Ollie Twist

The Enemy Concept came together in early 2009 when long time associates Tony Volpe and Ollie Twist decided to put together a group for the sole purpose of bringing live alternative hip-hop to their local music scene.  Bassist Dan Pilver and drummer JL Claybourne round out the group's rhythm section to provide the most live, rocking, funky, hip-hopping show youve EVER seen.

Quickly gaining notoriety among friends for their impeccable live performances, catchy tracks, and throwback covers, The Enemy Concept stand poised to take over the greater New England music scene and beyond.

The Enemy Concept's sound is not derived from any single source, but more of an amalgamation of musical backgrounds and influences.  Put into words, the sound of The Enemy Concept might be said to have the 'edge' of Rage Against the Machine, while still maintaining the sweet soul of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  Songs such as "Grain of Salt," "World on Fire," and "Bombsquad" may be a perfect example of TEC's ability to blend a grooving rhythm with an intense, uplifting, and impossibly sweet chorus that's not so much Hip-Hop as it is Pop/Rock.  On the flip side, songs such as "Until Theyre Gone," "Chillin," and "Pressure Points" showcase their ability to Hip-Hop like no other, grooving in a manner that illicits uncanny thoughts of your favorite rappers' hottest tracks.  In addition to funky pop/rock tracks such as "Jungle Funk" and Bird's Eye View," The Enemy Concept's choice of cover songs vary among all walks of Hip-Hop.  From Nas to Jay-Z, Del to Rage Against the Machine, TEC's got you covered.

The Enemy Concept pictures themselves as an ALT ROCK/HIP-HOP group.  Doesnt matter the setting, TEC rocks everyone, everywhere they go, all the time.

In this year of 2011, The Enemy Concept has alot to look forward to: NEW MEMBER Jeff Parker joins the ranks on keys/synth, adding that extra element they've needed to fill out the 'Concept' Sound!  See him onstage at any TEC show this summer!  Outward expansion: already consistently rocking their favorite local clubs (The Main Pub, Manchester/ Up Or On The Rocks, Hartford/ AllStars, Manchester/ Sully's Pub, Hartford) TEC is looking forward to bringing their original ALT ROCK/HIP-HOP sound to stages outside of Hartford, and outside of CT!
